Calgary Centre EDA This was the web page for the Calgary Centre Federal Green Party Association (otherwise known as the Calgary Centre EDA) from the founding of the EDA in October 2006 until February 2009. It is being maintained for now since there are probably some documents posted here that will be of interest to EDA members. As outlined in the February 2009 EDA bulletin (see below) I stepped down as EDA CEO at the AGM held on February 23, 2009. I really enjoyed my time as CEO and it was an honour and a privilege to work with so many dedicated Greens! I plan to stay involved with the EDA, just not as CEO. Adrian Textor was elected as the new CEO at the AGM and Natalie Odd was re-nominated as the candidate for the riding. If you are interested in helping out you can email Adrian at adrian.textor@greenparty.ca or Natalie at natalie.odd@greenparty.ca. 2008 Election Results for Natalie OddNatalie Odd was nominated by EDA members as the Green Party candidate for Calgary Centre at our nomination meeting on September 9, 2008. Natalie ran a great campaign in the fall election and we increased our popular vote to 16.6%, an increase of almost 5% over the last election. This was the best Green Party percentage in Alberta and the seventh best percentage in the country. We beat the NDP candidate in the riding and were only 624 votes behind the Liberal candidate. In addition, the Green Party was the only party in the riding to increase our vote from the last election. You can visit Natalie's campaign website here: http://natalieodd.ca/. We are fortunate that Natalie will remain our candidate and she is very committed to moving the party forward and winning in the riding. Campaign team meetings are continuing in 2009 and most are being held on the second Monday of each month. Each meeting will be at at 7:00 pm and most meetings are on the last Monday of the month at the Bankview Community Centre (2418 17th St. SW).
